College Rutgers Lacrosse: Joe Nardella Honored by the Big Ten Conference For the first time in program history, Rutgers lacrosse has earned a Big Ten conference honor. by Jayson Love March 17, 2015 (Via ScarletKnights.com) For the first time in program history, Rutgers lacrosse has earned a Big Ten conference honor. Joe Nardella was named Big Ten Conference Lacrosse Specialist of the week. Knights fans have suffered through a long up-and-down season which featured a loss to Monmouth and three straight home losses. However, through all the inconsistency, one of the few constant bright spots has been Nardella who has been a master on face-offs this season. In what has become an expected type of performance, Nardella took all 31 faceoffs against Delaware, and won 18 of the 31. He also collected an impressive 13 ground balls. Ironically, Nardella was even better in the loss to Stony Brook where he won a staggering 20 of 26 face-offs. He has been great on draws all season long and this accomplishment is long overdue.
