College Rutgers QB Commit Russo Invited To Elite 11 Semifinals by Staff Post June 3, 2015 Rutgers 2016 quarterback commit Anthony Russo has been invited to the Elite 11 Semifinals in Los Angeles, Ca. this weekend. httpss://twitter.com/Anthony_Russo15/status/605892321897357312 From studentsports.com, “The Elite 11 Semifinals will bring together top performers from the 2015 Elite 11 regional events to receive advanced, one-on-one quarterback instruction in a highly competitive setting. The Elite 11 Semifinals will span two days and include on-field drills, routes-on-air, classroom instruction and a final 7-on-7 evaluation. Top performers can earn a spot in the Elite 11 Finals as part of The Opening Finals July 5-11 at Nike World Headquarters in Beaverton, Ore. “The Elite 11 Competition (features) the top high school quarterbacks in the nation and was founded in 1999. Ten of the past 11 quarterbacks to have won the Heisman Trophy attended the Elite 11 Finals or an Elite 11 regional. 35 of the top 49 NFL passers in 2014 attended the Elite 11 Finals or an Elite 11 regional.” Russo is highlighted as a top-30 quarterback in the class of 2016, and coach Flood and his staff should be very pleased to discover this young man who started just one year on varsity as junior this past fall. The Archbishop Wood product in Pennsylvania has a chance to up his recruiting ranking, his exposure, and prove he is one of the best. Russo committed to the Scarlet Knights on May 18.
