College UConn Football Star Eli Thomas suffers stroke by Chris Passarelli October 15, 2018 It was a scary scene at the Storrs campus last Wednesday afternoon, as it was announced that UConn linebacker Eli Thomas had suffered a stroke prior to a team workout. It was first reported that Thomas suffered the stroke during the workout, but it was later clarified that the stroke happened before the workout. Having a stroke is a scary thing in general, but having one at 22 years old is something unimaginable. According to the Hartford Courant, Thomas is in good spirits and in stable condition. Thomas started four games for the young Huskies defense and plays both outside linebacker and defensive end. A quote from Head Coach Randy Edsall hits the nail on the head when it comes to life in general; “Every day, you just never know what can happen. Things like this are just very unfortunate. It’s one of those things where [you take it] one day at a time and do the very best you can every day because you just never know what can happen.” Post Views: 1,004 The following two tabs change content below.BioLatest Posts Chris Passarelli Football Editor - Hockey Editor - New York Islanders Lead Writer - New York Lizards Lead Writer - UConn Football Lead Writer Latest posts by Chris Passarelli (see all) NFL Network to Premiere ‘The Top 100 Players of 2020’ on July 26 - July 22, 2020 The ‘Toilet Bowl’ may be coming to Western New York - July 16, 2020 Bigger is Better; SoFi Stadium Completes Largest Videoboard in Sports - July 1, 2020 Smoltz, Vrabel and Brown talk American Century Championship and Everything in Between - June 30, 2020 Related TopicsEli ThomasFootballNCAAUCONN Huskies Click to comment You must be logged in to post a comment Login Leave a Reply Cancel replyYou must be logged in to post a comment.
