Are Princeton and Seton Hall Women Unfairly Ranked?

The Princeton Lady Tigers are a perfect example of this. The women are one of only two undefeated teams left in the entire NCAA.

The rankings in the NCAA Women’s Basketball AP Top 25 for our concrete jungle teams seem to be unfair. The Princeton Lady Tigers are a perfect example of this. The women are one of only two undefeated teams left in the entire NCAA, along with the University of Kentucky men, and while the Kentucky men are ranked #1 in their top 25 poll, the Princeton women are ranked 16th in the nation.

This is a totally unfair ranking. The Princeton women are not just winning, they are dominating opponents. The Kentucky men are pulling wins out of the blue. Princeton should definitely be ranked the #1 team in the nation on the women’s side.

The other team who’s ranking seems unfair is the Seton Hall women. The Lady Pirates sit at a 22-4 record, better than eight of the top 25 teams. So why are they unranked? They don’t belong out of the top 25. They are playing exceptional basketball, and belong in the top 25. It can be assumed that the women are aware of this, and they are probably just as angered as their fans.

Look for Seton Hall to prove to the college basketball world that they belong in the top 25 as they begin the Big East tournament in a few weeks.
