Events C-CAP to host star-studded 30th Anniversary Grand Tasting Event The ultimate tasting event will feature 40 world-renowned restaurants in NYC. by Gregg Snyder February 20, 2020 National non-profit, C-CAP, will host its 30th Anniversary Grand Tasting Celebration on Tuesday, February 25 at Pier Sixty – Chelsea Piers, NYC. The event will begin with a red carpet arrivals by a star-studded lineup of guests, including area sports figures OJ Anderson, Justin Tuck, Howard Cross, Erik Coleman, Charles Oakley, and John Starks. NBC Chief Meteorologist, Janice Huff, will emcee the evening chaired by Tim Zagat, Co-Founder of Zagat. C-CAP provides underserved youth with educational and career opportunities through the culinary arts. It is a curriculum enrichment program linking public high school culinary teachers and their students to the food service industry. The programs within C-CAP work together to help prepare students for college and careers in the restaurant and hospitality industry. The organization was founded by culinary educator, Richard Grausman and co-chaired by chef, author, and restaurateur, Marcus Samuelsson. “I look forward to celebrating the work I have done for 30 years and is the pinnacle in my career,” Richard Grausman, Founder C-CAP/Chef/Author. “C-CAP has an incredible system in place that through education and training, prepares underserved youth for careers in the professional world of culinary and hospitality. The program is also a huge benefit to the growing market and chefs looking for skilled and motivated talent,” Marcus Samuelsson, CAP Board Co-Chair/Chef/Author/Restaurateur. Guests at the event will enjoy decadent signature dishes by NYC’s hottest chefs along with world-class wines by Heitz Cellar, cocktails and specialty Vodka drinks by Tito’s top mixologists. The grand tasting will be assisted by talented C-CAP students and alumni. An auction featuring once-in-a-lifetime culinary, culture and travel packages, will also take place.
