Jamaica takes down Panama in Quarterfinals of Gold Cup

Philadelphia: The road to the Gold Cup Championship made a stop at Lincoln Financial Field in South Philadelphia on Sunday Afternoon as Jamaica took on Panama in the Quarterfinals.

Panama comes into the game as the number 2 seed in Group D while Jamaica is the top seed in Group C.

In the first half, both teams would have some good scoring chances but both goalies were up for the test. Panama would start to put pressure on Jamaica they would have three golden chances to score but they could not finish.

This game would be scoreless at halftime.

Early in the second half, it would be some of the same as what we saw in the first half as both teams would get their scoring chance but could not finish.

Drama late in the second half as Panama Michael Murillo would get called for Hand Ball in the 73rd minute and Jamaica gets awarded with Penalty Kick and Darren Mattocks would bury it for a 1-0 lead in the 75th minute.

With the win, Jamaica will move on to Nashville for the Semifinals against the winner of the USA vs Curacao
