Lizards top Cannons on ‘Camp Day’

The New York Lizards put on a clinic, both literally and figuratively, in a 15-12 win over the Boston Cannons. It was ‘Camp Day’ for all young fans attending, and the Lizards showed everyone in attendance how lacrosse should be played. The game, which took place Thursday at noon at Shuart Stadium on the campus of Hofstra University, saw the Lizards come back from an 8-4 deficit to pick up their second win of the season.

Dylan Molloy led the pack with four goals.  Justin Reh sparked the Lizards comeback with his goal in the second that eventually led to seven straight goals getting past the Cannons.  The Lizards outscored the Cannons 7-1 in the third quarter.  New York got help from Ryan Walsh (2 G), Rob Pannell (2 G, 2 A) and Nick Galasso (2 G).  Austin Kaut made 17 saves in the winning effort.

The Lizards try to stay on track when they head to Annapolis, MD to face the Chesapeake Bayhawks.  That game will take place on July 20th.  With a good rally over the next few weeks, the Lizards could find themselves back in playoff contention.  For now, it’s a one game at a time attitude for the team in green.
