Philadelphia Union Shutout Montreal

Chester PA: After falling to the Galaxy last week, the Union look to get back to their winning ways as they took on Montreal Impact on Saturday afternoon from Talen Energy Stadium in Chester PA>

before the game, the Union would announce that Mark McKenzie is OUT for today’s game & Aurelien Colin would take his place in the lineup.

Early in the first half, the Union & Impact would have some good scoring chances, The Union would open the Scoring in the 14th minute on a shot from Cory Burke for the 1-0 lead.

How Burke Scored:

Union goalie Andre Blake would make nice diving save in the 18th minute to keep it 1-0.

We had a scary moment in the 25th minute as Bedoya would go down after being hit in the head

Union Cory Burke would go down after a nasty contact in the box and he would return to the match.

Late in the first half, Union Jack Elliott draws a foul in the penalty area and the Union gets rewarded with a Penalty kick.  Jamiro Monteiro would take the Penalty Kick and he would Blast it home for his 1st career goal and the Union would lead 2-0. Union took a 2-0 lead at halftime.

In the Second half, the Union would keep the pressure on Montreal

during the 53rd minute, Union Goalie Andre Blake would get hurt as he would kick the ball on a goal kick and went down, on the replay it may have injured his groin, Matt Freese would come into the game in the 54th minute.

Union would make it 3-0 in the 57th minute on a goal from Alejandro Bedoya off a pass from Cory Burke.

A Crowd of 15,407 would see the Union take down Montreal 3-0. The Union will now head to battle with Vancouver on April 27 at Vancouver while Montreal takes on New England on Apil 24 in New England
