Victoria Cardaci Ties Program Record in First Game for Seton Hall Women’s Basketball

Before joining the Seton Hall Pirates, Victoria Cardaci played in 74 games for Clemson from 2014-17. For the Tigers, she scored 6.1 points per game as a sophomore in 2015-16 and 5.4 per game as a junior in 2016-17.

Now a graduate student at Seton Hall, Cardaci, was inserted into the Pirates starting lineup for their season opener against Wagner on Tuesday. Cardaci lived up to her reputation as a three-point specialist.

The Holmdel, NJ native tied a program record with seven three-pointers, recording a game-high 21 points in leading the Pirates to a 95-40 win over Wagner.

She became the fourth player in program history to hit seven threes in one game and the first since Tabatha Richardson-Smith on Nov. 17, 2014.

After quickly trailing Wagner 6-0, the Pirated responded with a 15-0 run to gain control. Cardaci hit two three-pointers during that time.

Overall, Seton Hall made 13 three-pointers in the contest. Four players registered double-digit points for the Pirates as Shadeen Samuels, Inja Butina, and Desiree Elmore joined Cardaci in the feat.

The win was the 100th victory of head coach Tony Bozzella’s tenure at Seton Hall. He became the fastest coach to hit that mark in program history.
