Soccer NYCFC ties again! by Stefany Romero April 7, 2019 -Yankee Stadium 10’ into the game Alexandru Mitriță almost scored a goal to commence the game but unfortunately was blocked off By Bush who stopped the ball abrubtly before it made it inside the net. This is how NYCFC commenced the momentum Saturday facing Montreal. After their defeat last weekend in Toronto, where the boys fell 4-0, Dome Torrent made three changes to his lineup for this game, bringing in Ronald Matarrita, Sebastien Ibeagha, Jonathan Lewis and Taty Castellanos. The men who kept the back line for NYCFC safe , Maxime Chanot and Sebastien Ibeagha moved swiftly and graciously , making tackles and stopping the offense throughout an industrious but relatively quiet first half. Matarrita produced NYCFC’s closest chance to a goal in the first 45’, forcing Bush into a good save down to the left side of The goal post. Ismael Tajouri-Shradi went on the field early in the second half and was victorious at striking the ball into the back of the net. Unfortunately for him, the linesman had his flag up, ruling out the goal for offside, cutting the celebrations short. In the 61’ newly-acquired striker, Héber made his debut with NYCFC and the Brazilian was met with a proper Bronx welcome by fans who had been waiting to see him play and hopefully make a difference for the team. Unfortunately NYFC didn’t make any other grand changes or scored the rest of the game, which keep them continuing with a winless record. Post game Head Coach Domé seemed to remain optimistic about the next games explaining how different the guys play during training as opposed to their recent performances in games. “We have to be able to play much better because in the training sessions, they were able to score goals, and amazing goals. When we play here, we will need to win one game. When it happens, our confidence will be much, much better and we’re able to win the next game. But we fought until the last moment – that for our players is good. But everybody knows we needs to score because the sport in general is about that – it’s about the results. You can play much better than the opening but after that if you’re not able to win the game, especially when we play here at home, we will need to get three points.
