College Rutgers’ Men’s Basketball 2015 Forward De-Commits by Guest June 2, 2015 Kejuan Johnson, a member of Rutgers’ 2015 recruiting class, has requested a release from his letter of intent, and the Scarlet Knights are expected to grant it today, according to Evan Daniels from Scout. Johnson, a three-star small forward originally from Marietta, GA, will re-open his commitment after receiving his release. He originally committed to the Scarlet Knights back in November of last year after his official visit. The Hargrave Military Academy (VA) product was highly regarded for his size and physicality. In his story on Johnson’s commitment from November, Daniels wrote, “Johnson is a strong, physical forward. He’s active in the lane, rebounds his area well and can finish close to the rim.” Kejuan Johnson will be granted his release from Rutgers and re-open his commitment (borntocompete.com). According to 247Sports.com, Johnson also received an offer from St. John’s during his recruitment. He received interest from a number of other programs, including Kentucky, Florida, Maryland, Providence and Texas, but did not receive offers from them. Rutgers’ 2015 recruiting class is now down to four new additions, including early enrollee Justin Goode, Corey Sanders, Jonathan Laurent and JUCO transfer Deshawn Freeman. The Scarlet Knights will also welcome transfers Omari Grier (Bradley) and Nigel Johnson (Kansas State).
