Ryan Arcidiacono wins 2016 Double G Sports Award for College Male Athlete of the Year

The voting has ended and the winners have been announced in the 2016 Double G Sports awards. This category is for College Male Athlete of the Year. Here is a look at the nominees.

Kris Jenkins- Villanova Basketball

Chase Edmonds- Fordham Football

Ryan Arcidiacono- Villanova Basketball

Joe Rattigan- Princeton Football

And the winner of the 2016 Double G Sports College Male Athlete of the Year is, Ryan Arcidiacono.

A four-year player and team captain at Villanova, Arcidiacono finished his final collegiate season with career highs in scoring (12.5 PPG), assists (4.2 APG) and rebounds (2.9 RPG). A second-team All-Big East selection, Arcidiacono helped Villanova to the Big East regular season title and the NCAA Championship, where Arcidiacono was named Most Outstanding Player after scoring 16 points in the clinching game.

Arcidiacono graduated from Villanova with a degree in liberal arts and is currently playing in the NBA’s Developmental League with the Austin Spurs.
