Soccer Torrent is ready to leave New York City FC by Stefano Bentivogli November 2, 2019 Domenec Torrent’s experience as a New York City FC coach has come to an end. The official news has not yet arrived, but it seems that Torrent has made the decision to leave New York. Although Torrent is signed to New York City FC from another year of contract, the Blues coach has decided to leave New York and the MLS. It is likely that Torrent will be able to return to Europe, with New York therefore having to find a new coach. A decision that is partly surprising and partly not. Torrent’s departure may leave us surprised because New York City FC played its absolute best season and there is room for improvement. On the other hand, Torrent has never hidden his desire to try the adventure as Head Coach in Europe. Even the rumors of the City’s possible interest in Giovanni Van Bronckhorst, did not like very much in Torrent, also because these rumors arrived in the middle of the season, while New York struggled to reach great and important goals. Torrent may have heard these rumors as a sign of mistrust, but it must be said that these rumors have not affected Dome in his daily work with the team. The team continued to play and do great things until the disastrous playoffs against Toronto. New York City FC was looking for continuity, but now it will have to start again, probably with a new coach.
